School's Out for the Summer

Yeeeeesss!!!
Tomorrow is the last day of school for yet another year. I can't believe it has gone so quickly.
I'll be seriously working on my list over the coming six weeks so keep an eye out for new blog posts and more importantly the promised photo evidence.
I'm loving Summer

The best laid plans

Today my band Was Broken is due to play our School Summer Fair- we run with the big guns us.
Anyway to say it's not been easy to get there is an understatement. First our drummer remembered he was on holiday, then I got ill, then our replacement drummer got ill.
But finally today has come and I'm up bright and early raring to go.
Except I'm not- I'm terrified of playing with a band member we've never practised with (Worship at Perry Street anyone?!).
I know it's not Glastonbury and I am not Hayley from Paramore (I wish I was) but I still don't want to look like a complete fool (For a change).
Enough brackets now - I'm off to have a go!!
Wish me luck

One turns into Two

Hey All,

I got part way towards crossing off another of the items on my 'list of fun' today

I booked my first guitar lesson!

I guess I can't cross it off the list until I've actually had several lessons as the entry on the list says... Get guitar lessons.

Still ...it's a start.

Correction

OK, so I've had some questions regarding the validity of my list. Strictly speaking all of the things that are on the list are not new things that I've never done before.

I've been to New York (although never lived it up as going one time with your mother and the next with a -by then- ex-boyfriend doesn't quite count). I've swum in the sea, seen the sun rise and set (though not from a tall building).
I've drunk champagne by a river, I've been to a music festival and I've definitely sung Karaoke in a packed bar - I Will always Love You anyone?
But that just isn't the point of my list...

The things I want to do this year aren't just things to do because I need to have achieved them by a certain age - I've lived a lot, I've done stuff, I've got the various t-shirts.

No the point is that I what I want is to have fun!! Pure, unadulterated, take-no-prisoners fun, and that's what my list reflects. FUN!!

So for something to be crossed off my list it needs to have been done this year...Between July 1st 2008 and midnight on June 9th 2009.

And I guess this here blog counts as one thing I've done already!!

One down- 29 to go

30 Things to do before you're 30- The List

So...I was sitting around sick off work today, musing on the state of the world/ state of my life and wondering aloud where all the fun has gone. This miserable state of affairs all started with a simple night out. A girl friend and I went to a gig on Friday, drunk beer from plastic cups, lusted after a man's guitar player forearms and danced like dervishes. We had a blast!! Afterwards we got to thinking - we're only young! Shouldn't we be doing more of this? Making the most of these pre-children years? So we made a pact that this year would be our year of fun!! We're gonna act like we're young and carefree - even when we don't feel like it- especially when we don't feel like it. And to help things along I've made a list of 30 things I'm gonna do before I'm 30 (345 days and counting).

So I'm inviting you to come on this journey with me. Follow my progress here in my blog- see my photo diary as I document each one achieved and perhaps even help me out with a few of my list over this year.

Oh and in case you were wondering number 29 is blank on purpose - I'm putting that one out there for suggestions from all of you. So leave me some ideas in the comments section

So here's my list...in no particular order.
